Open day Celebration
This year is celebrations year and the Hockerill Dental started it off with a huge open day. It was full of fun and snacks and entertainment and lot of free dental treatments.
The day was a huge success and over a hundred attended
During the day I’ve heard many amusing stories about Mr. John Jaques the retired dentist. Here are some of the stories:
“he use to sing hymns, funny songs or humming while working in our mouths”
“when he looked into my mouth he started singing “I’m in the money”
“he use to sing “there ain’t nobody here but us chickens” while he was working in my mouth.”
“he named his drills: percy puffer, whistling Willie and Bertie buzzer., hoping it would make us at ease”
“he used to have a map of the world on the wall and asked the patients if they can name the 5 countries surrounding Chad, if they could they would get a free treatment. No one ever did.”
“Many of us started with the practice in the early 60’s then known as The Limes and are still coming to the practice now known as Hockerill Dental”
“We find HD is professionally run and to see a familiar face like Nettie who we have known for many years makes our visits a pleasant experience”
“This practice is professional and we all keep and stay in touch. It’s a very pleasant experience coming to this practice”
Over the years as many as three generations of families still visit the practice.
Thank you to all our patients for your continuing loyalty and support over the last ten years.
It was a sunny day full of fun, champagne and snacks , Patients, Mr. John Jaques and the Hockerill Dental team shared stories, lauaghter and friendship here at the surgery.
